Our adventure began in Vreeland on the Vecht, where restaurant Hendrik has been a beloved spot for young and old for years. A place where nostalgia, homeliness and craftsmanship come together. As children we came here often as brothers and we now want to pass on those warm memories to Amsterdam.
At the end of 2025, we will open the doors of Hendrik Amsterdam, in a special place: the former iconic restaurant Le Garage. After a thorough renovation, we have created a cozy, village atmosphere here in the heart of the city: warm, convivial and casual. A place where you get together with friends, family or colleagues, and where children playfully make memories that last a lifetime.
In winter, a cozy stove provides warmth, while the children, among others, can have fun in our own children's theater.
As in Vreeland, we cherish the old Dutch tradition of traditionally baked pancakes. Our menu also surprisingly offers many other dishes: from an extensive lunch to dishes that change every season. In winter, for example, we serve our beloved cheese fondue.
